GnuCash Accounting Application

GnuCash is a program to manage your personal or business finances. GnuCash lets you track bank accounts, stocks, income and expenses. As quick and intuitive as a checkbook register, it is based on professional accounting principles to ensure balanced books and accurate reports.

To use GnuCash:

  1. Install the gnucash package from the “Universe” repository (see Chapter 3, Adding, Removing and Updating Applications).

  2. You can open GnuCash by running the command gnucash (see the run application manual for help on how to run an application without using the menu). If you wish, you can add a menu entry for the program gnucash (see the menu editor manual for help on how to add menu entries).
