Digital Cameras

Ubuntu detects most USB digital cameras automatically. Plug in and switch on the camera, and Ubuntu will then ask you if you would like to import the photos it contains. Click on Import, and Ubuntu will show you a preview of the photos. Choose a location to save your photos to, then click on Import, and Ubuntu will save your photos to your hard drive.

If Ubuntu does not ask you if it can import the photos:

  1. Open Applications->Graphics->gThumb Image Viewer .

  2. Choose File->Import Photos.

See the section called “gThumb Image Viewer” for more on gThumb.
